Italy [photo (c) BBC]
The playing of the Braveheart music after
the Scotland v Italy game follows on from the playing of Mel Gibson's
'Sons of Scotland ...' speech just before the kick-off on Saturday 4th
June 2005 at Hampden Park at the Scotland v Moldova World Cup qualifying
game.
Mel's rendition of Randall Wallace's wonderful words seem to do the
trick ... Scotland 2-0 Moldova.

In
the year of the 700th anniversary of the death of Sir William Wallace,
which also sees the 10th anniversary of Braveheart, Scottish Football
seems to have taken Braveheart to it's heart.
Following a creditable 1-1 draw in the World Cup qualifying match
against Italy, as the Scotland fans left Hampden Park,
the stadium PA system played the Braveheart soundtrack CD.
It's also interesting to see that Scottish
football webpages like The Road to
Hampden have Braveheart theme midi files attached, to give
background music to the webpage.
